Swimming pool handrail

We have just had a handrail fitted to one side of the Roman steps of our swimming pool. As they are metal (steel? chrome?) they will obviously get hot in the summer. Can anyone suggest the best way to insulate them in an elegant way (my darling wife loves “elegant”)?

The un elegant way could be using polystyrene pipe insulation with duct tape.
The elegant way would be use an elegant oven mit when entering/exiting the pool.
Seriously though I think that you can buy such things from Amazon.

Amazon options. Or for a local source, Lloyd could probably help.

Mine sits in the sun pretty much from sunrise to sunset. My friend's little 4 year old granddaughter uses it quite happily so it can only be warm to her touch, not hot.

A black handrail would get hotter!

Thanks to all and we shall what happens. We wondered when the local charity shop bound their handrail to stop it getting hot. We’ve only had the handrail for a couple of days and perhaps we were worrying about something that may not be a problem.
