I have put on the eastern Cyprus forum a long screed on temperature measurement using three different types of weather station at my place in Mosfiloti and indicating today's maximum temperature. I believe this to be 39.8° C ± 0.3° C at 14:23. This may be of interest to those wanting to know how to get the most accurate measurements.

Even at Polemi which is quite high up, it reached 34 c in the shade today. In fact it has only just begun dropping down in the last hour or so. But of course we have the aircon on in the lounge and it is a steady 26c

Its been really hot here in Chloraka, especially as there was absolutely no sea breeze today.
At 3pm my outdoor thermometer in the shade by the car port was showing 41c! You could have fried an egg dropped on the paving!
