The second Phase of Gesy the GHS heath system was supposed to start on June the 1st.. It is now proposed that it start 3 months later than that on September the 1st

Understandable of course, as long as it is not you waiting for surgery, non of us know the direction of this awful virus but do remember not all medical treatments can wait.

08 April: ''As part of the new arrangements, private hospitals will be treating urgent cases through their accident and emergency departments. Patients will either be transferred there by ambulances or can directly go there on their own. Private hospitals will also be carrying out urgent surgeries that cannot be performed at state hospitals and treat patients referred to them by public sector clinics and A&Es. “The health ministry will not assume the costs for any patient who seeks help from the private sector on their own and who does not fall into the above categories,” Okypy said.

24 April Outpatient clinics of public and private hospitals are reopening

The outpatient clinics of public and private hospitals are reopening on Monday, 27 April 2020, according to a decree issued by the Minister of Health, which has been published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 23 April.
A provision according to which visits to private and public hospitals for non-urgent cases were banned, has been removed from the decree. Consequently, clinics/departments will be allowed to arrange appointments for cases that are not urgent.

It is also clarified that, according to the decree, planned surgeries are cancelled for patients whose health condition allows it and their lives are not in danger.

I thought the next phase of GESY would be using the private sector who are not, to the best of my knowledge, treating Covid-19 patients. Possibly the government had not concluded arrangements with the private sector before the virus took priority.
