The lady running the Oxford programme, has been a little overly-optimistic in stating that’s it has 80% chance of working - as nobody else would be so optimistic about vaccines, until more is known. I.e. side-effects for one. Also, even if successful, and one is ready for September, it then has to go though lots of approvals and then manufacturing, so mass availability will be a year from then... at least...

Simp;y don’t want people to raise hopes too early. There are something like 80 vaccine research programmes worldwide, though, so surely one will hit the mark. I just don’t see the point in the UK media getting all wet over one, just because it’s in the UK and Oxford University. I sincerely hope it’s 100% successful though.
