A GESY experience: bravo

For reasons irrelevant to this thread, I recently fractured two thoracic vertebrae, resulting in considerable pain and limiting my movements.

GP referred me to an orthopaedic surgeon, who examined me and referred me to a radiologist for x-rays. The latter gave an exact diagnosis of the problem. This was on Friday afternoon.

Yesterday, Monday, I was going to phone the orthopaedist for an appointment when the phone rang. It was the orthopaedist's assistant to tell me that the doctor had seen the x-rays and was prescribing a stronger painkiller. I phoned the local pharmacy and was told that the drug in question was not in stock but he could get it within a couple of hours.

At midday, a friend drove me to the pharmacy, with four persons waiting outside. Without asking, they gave me priority and I was able to pick up the drugs within a matter of a few minutes of my arrival.

I was impressed by this experience and, in particular, by the kindness of those waiting, allowing an old wreck to have priority. I was equally impressed by the radiologist having sent the results to the orthopaedist, the latter phoning me with instructions to get the drug, the priority given to me at the pharmacy and the fact that I had the drug in my possession within half a day, thanks to the GESY system.
