How can these people be so stupid, and selfish?

The Bath half marathon has gone ahead despite an outcry over it taking place during the coronavirus crisis.

The Premier League and Football League have been cancelled over the weekend but organisers denied they were being irresponsible by pressing ahead.

They said said 6,200 runners took part - about half the usual number.

Andrew Taylor, director of the Bath half said he had not received any advice from public health officials not to go ahead.

He said the advice from the experts - Public Health England and the local commissioning care group - had been "consistent that this is a low-risk event, with absolutely no reason for it not to go ahead".

He said a "series of situations has unravelled almost by the hour" leaving them "caught in the eye of a perfect storm".

Ministers are drawing up plans to ban mass gatherings in the UK from as early as next weekend in response to the spread of the virus, which the World Health Organization has classified as a pandemic.

It was stupid and selfish. Although the organisers say it was not specifically banned, people have known for a while to keep apart from other individuals..

I simply can't believe how stupid these people are. No responsibility at all !

Have stopped reading too much about the general response of the public in the UK to Coronavirus - their crass stupidity and selfishness raises my blood pressure to dangerous levels.

The citizens of the UK think it’s a Holiday city folk are rushing to the tourist spots of Suffolk Scotland Wales and Cornwall to their 2nd homes caravans rentals camper vans etc etc I don’t think they can process what the government announcement “essential travel only” actually means unfortunately these area don’t have the capacity in the already stretched NHS

Not only fools Lloyd. Egoists and dangerous idiots. Sorry, it makes me so angry.

I go for a run along the coast now that gyms are closed but it's just me. i do see the occasional dog walker but we keep safe distance. Common sense seems to be in short supply with many though!
