Is this a free upgrade?

When connecting our new apartment the CYTA engineer mentioned we would be getting a free upgrade of 10mb to 20mb.

If you are a customer you will be getting an email.

Is it an automatic upgrade if you're a customer of Cyta and have received an email?

Has anyone had this e mail. I am a CYTA customer and I havent had one.

Yes TandC we got ours this morning :

"Dear Customer,

As from 1st March 2020, Cyta will proceed with an upgrade of your Internet Home service. The upgrade includes a faster speed and enhanced security from internet threats by blocking the access to malicious websites that:
• are designed to infect your devices with malware and viruses
• aim to steal personal information, financial data or passwords.
Information about the Internet Home upgrade is shown in the table below."

Followed by the table.

Yes, we also got the email. However there is a very small increase in the monthly fee

As Lincoln says a small increase , I can live with that .

Come on Primetel, you need to match this. After all they all use the same wires!

Yaba Daba DOOOOO. Our internet speed has gone from 10 mb up to 20.2 today. Wow, it is now so much quicker. So time to test your speed. We are happy.

Mine wasn’t there yesterday , but it is today . Now up to 20mb from 10 . Happy days .

Did you have to do anthing or did it just happen automatically

It is automatic.

What is the difference between internet home at 27.37 per month and internet home without telephony at 39.63 per month both same speed download 10mbps upload 2mbps.

Three different offers = three different prices

Internet Home - For customers that have an existing telephone line or broadband access and wish to connect to the Internet.

Internet Home without Telephony - For customers that wish to connect to the Internet without a telephone line.

Internet Home + Telephony - For customers that wish to have a telephone line and also connect to the Internet.

I gather some people have been upgraded and some have not been upgraded YET. Since the upgrading our 20 Mb connection has been so slow ... I suspect that Cyta is “fiddling”.
