The harbour area in Kato Paphos has been most affected by the extreme weather affecting the area since last night.

The thunderstorms and strong wind have caused damages across Posidonos avenue along the coast starting at the public baths and up to the land area of the harbour causing difficulties in circulation.

Pafos authorities crews sped to the scene and are cleaning the area as per the mayor’s instructions.

Authorities are on stand-by as extreme weather is expected to continue.

Where we are, the weather hasn't been extreme, today, only 11.8 mm rain (up to 12:30) and wind gust maxed at 11.3 m/s (40.68 km/h, 21.97 knots, 25.28 mph, 37.03 ft/s, 678 m/min, 2224 ft/min, 6 Beaufort) at 10:24.

BTW, wind units are best expressed per second and not per min or per h. Why? Because a gust or an average may last a second or the best part thereof but it will never be constant for a minute and, even less, for an hour. This is the main reason I always use m/s, which is also favoured by most official weather services. IMHO!

Remarkably, the cloud cover overnight created a big jump in temperatures, 11.6°C min at 6:38 this morning (7.2°C at 6:43 yesterday).

It's a good job we do not get weather like this in Cyprus.
