First earthquake I experienced 1995 when I lived in Polis area, 5.9 Richter and only
10 km deep. Center was at the pigs farm in Akamas. It happened in the middle of the
night and the tremors did not stop for 3 days. I slept in my car until it stopped.
Many old buildings at Arodhes/Inia area collapsed and 2 people died.
In the meantime I am used to tremors which appear from time to time and I am not
scared anymore. When I lived a couple of years in Italy it happened in the first week
after moving that there was a very strong one, also in the night, but I stayed in
bed, telling my girlfriend: it is only a tremor... next day I realized that 20 km away
several towns were flattened and many people died.
So don't worry here, that is nothing, and villas are actually properly built earthquake resisting 7.8 Richter...
