There is a bad weather front coming towards Cyprus from the West next Tuesday/Wednesday, which could bring some rain. So far I measured in November only 9 mm of rain (2.11.+15.11.) which is not that much for this month. A good rain would stop definitely a lot of the wild fires we recently had, as it is the time of the year local farmers burn their fields for maintenance. They argue that this way they get rid of rats and snakes and in the same moment it gives fertilizer to the soil from burning weeds (potash) What they forget is that they kill not only rats and snakes but everything not fast enough to escape the fire...and if wind comes up the fire easily gets out of control.
