Music on Remembrance Sunday

Had the pleasure of attending again, the British Legion service of remembrance last Sunday, at the harbour.

For the life of me I can’t remember the title of one of the pieces of music, and this year, the details weren’t in the programme.

The title that I’m looking for was part of the music played whilst the wreaths and crosses were being laid. It came after Nimrod, and was a solemn piece of funerial type music. In the back of my mind somewhere it has a Latin title.

Anyone know the piece?

Regards,
CL

Lloyd may well be right but could it also be "Ave Verum" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IluDMs8nBYc

He lo Lloyd.
No, still looking. I emailed the Royal British Legion to see if they could help as the music choice is theirs.

Still waiting for a reply. From your posts I see that Classical Music is an interest of yours. I’ll advise as soo as I know

Regards
Ian

After nearly 5 months with this nagging away....I’ve finally found the piece which I was looking for.

It’s a very emotional piece of classical music called...JUDEX.... by Charles Gounod.

I found it browsing in the brass band section of iTunes ( being a bb player of 50+ years)

If it’s your bag, the enjoy. I certainly have

This is what the lockdown is good for! We can get round to those nagging things that have been bothering us.
