It is tremendous for him. No doubt. ~He will, in my opinion, continue to win, even with the more equalised cars next year.

They are saying on Sky news this morning Louis will be a Sir Louis Hamilton, as Sir Jackie Stewart got his for thee time's F1 winner no doubting Louis should now get his, and well deserved too.

Going by the previous standard, I'd agree Jim.... however I don't think anyone should be honoured for being good at their job. I'd include Sir Andy, Sir Mo and all the others.... actors etc. Should only be for outstanding contributions to society and charity.

I don't think the awards are for doing their jobs though. They are for representing Britain.

Come on what does this matter?, he is a great driver probably the best ever in F1, if like many other sportsmen he gets an award of this nature then good for him and also others sportsmen & women.

Jim, nobody is disputing he is a great driver and certainly in the top 3 ever. Maybe the best. I put out that the awards, while deserved by him by current criteria, are perhaps no longer appropriate overall. Not related to Hamilton per SE.

He deserves any accolade he gets, if its a gong with sir added good...top one soon Jim he is already number two ;o)

I love watching paint dry Lloyd but I prefer watching F1, your Son in law has good taste in sport I think.

Cricket is my passion but F1 for me hits the spot, I even watch the practice sessions, I know sad bastard.

Lloyd It is good we do not all like the same TV sport or even TV shows.

I must be a sad bastard as well Jim as I also watch the practice sessions . It’s all part of the fun seeing how they can improve their times before qualifying.

If he becomes Sir Lewis (god forbid!) then it is profoundly to be hoped that he will begin to dress appropriately in royal boxes, take his hands out of his pockets, stop whistling, waving and dancing when the national anthem is played, and STOP wearing his hat on backwards indoors! I am aware that I probably am turning into my mother but really, given his age and position, he is an ignorant little squirt ....
