Having travelled back to the UK from Larnaca's new airport a couple of weeks ago, I have to say that I found the facilities for the disabled quite appalling. I reported to the assistance desk as directed, and given a wheelchair to sit in, then left for over an hour before help arrived, miles away from the loos, and anything else.
Eventually I was taken through passport control and all the necessary checks, great, thinking that at last I could get a drink, wrong, I was taken down in a lift to a dingy, grubby waiting area with only a drinks machine, and loo. The only other people there were also disabled. No chance of a hot drink or meal, no chance to buy anything to take home.
As this is a 'new' airport, it appears that as a disabled person, you are of lesser import than the rest of the passengers, quite unbelievable. It could even possibly be described as discrimination, certainly I thought so.
