Sad news emerged in a thread that Jackie's husband of 45 years has recently passed.

It seemed more appropriate to move the memorials to their own separate thread.

So very sorry to read your post, my condolences to you at this awful time. I’m away at present so not posting much. Sad also to see someone making such pathetic digs. About time he grew up.

Jackie, I don't think we've ever met but I know from personal experience what you are going through. You have my sympathy. It is a very difficult time, your emotions will be all over the place and any little set-back is likely to lead to tears. This is normal and does dissipate somewhat over time.

I realise from your posts that you are strong, but you will need a good support group of friends and family to help you through, not just the immediate aftermath, but until you suddenly realise that instead of automatically telling people "I'm fine" rather than saying exactly how you feel, you are actually fine and coping. And this intervening period takes as long as it takes, everyone is different.
