Water levels still down despite recent rain

Water development department official Andreas Manoli says dams across Cyprus are still stuttering along despite the recent rain storms to lash the island in the last few days....

Yep its strange, I always check the water levels after rain and asprokremos has been at around 40% for weeks

It is odd, because it's feeder river has definitely been giving it a constant supply. It is often dry in the summer but at the moment it is a full-fledged river.

we must be consuming the water faster than the rain can replenish it

February was very dry, my measuring for the whole month
was 4 mm/m2 (liter/m2) 17.2.= 1 mm, 22.2.=3 mm,
and March 2.3.= 6mm
The last wet weekend (27mm) water is not in the dams yet, but altogether
it is not enough to raise water levels a lot. And soon Yeroskipou farmers will start irrigating...
Where I live is not far from the Xeros river which feeds the dam, so my measuring make sense.
