Internet Access

I have a TP-Link 4 port/WiFi Router. The WiFi is working fine but the computer I have connected by ethernet cable via an 8 port switch is showing unidentified internet connection (limited). We had several power trips during the storm last Sunday and I'M wondering if this has affected the Router which was supplied by Netcom.

Maybe ask Netcom?

Can they talk you through the testing of it perhaps?

I think the Ethernet cable between the Router and Switch is damaged , one of the moulded plugs appears to snapped.

Does sound like a dodgy cable. The computer knows that something is plugged into its ethernet port but it isn't getting a signal.

Public or any other electric shop will have ethernet cables. Also, look in the box the router came with. There may be one in there.

What you mustn't do is change lots of settings on the computer in the hope that it will fix things.
