A so-far inactive law passed in 2016 providing stricter regulations for targeting uncontrolled noise pollution from pubs and bars will be enforced this week, Interior Minister Constantinos Petrides said on Monday....

Agree inconsiderate drivers with modifications to their car engines/ exhausts can and do behave irresponsibly, including suspected illegal racing at night are a menace and the noise travels at night. But so are bars and night clubs which have have music which is belted out at high decibels. Especially late at night.
The problem here is that even with laws in place they need to be properly enforced, I think that I read somewhere than at last the Police have or will have proper equipment which records accurately the number of decibels being produced...

Not just the equipment but also the training to use it correctly.
