Of course, we have paramedics in Germany ("Rettungssanitäter") as well. However, in a critical emergency the "Rettungsleitstelle" (emergency coordination centre) will dispatch a specially trained emergency physician ("Notarzt") as well, in time critical cases (e.g. in rural ares) if necessary by helicopter, because paramedics are not sufficiently qualified and/or not allowed to diagnose and treat certain conditions (think e.g. emergency anaesthesia, administration of opioids, tension pneumothorax etc.). The time limits are regulated by law (e.g. in my home state of Bavaria local governments must take care that an emergency physician can reach any point within 12 minutes) and to ensure they are met there are emergency stations ("Rettungswachen") distributed all over the country and emergency physicians are on standby 24/7 (not necessarily at these stations though). Thinking about it I´m now realising that I´ve never seen an emergency physician vehicle in Cyprus - only ambulances. Now I know why. And I must say I find this concerning. Thanks god I´m pretty healthy.

Travelling time into,Paphos from either is about 12 mins.

Jeba, you really should stop compering every aspect of life here in Cyprus, to life in Germany, especially the health systems, Germany is one of the most modern wealthy country's in the World, it goes with out saying little Cyprus will not come anywhere near the standard of medicine set in Germany,,, for Gods sake Gesy has only been operating for just over a year, it is really tiresome reading your posts telling us Germany has this/ does this/ etc etc, If you are so disillusioned on the standard of many things over here in Cyprus, Then choosing a country like Cyprus to live, isnt for you....
