I have a Samsung ‘Smart TV’. When it is configured to the region UK, you can install ‘apps’ for iPlayer, ITV Hub and All4 and others others.
I use ‘unblock-us’, a dns software Router that allows access to UK TV.
The TV network connection can then be setup to use the unblock-us dns for access to UK TV, including Netflix if required.
Unblock-us is a subscription software package.

I suppose that people who also have a home in the UK are OK using BBC IPlayer here in Cyprus because they can honestly say they have a UK television licence!

But they will still need something to disguise the fact that they are in Cyprus.. We use Tunnel Bear VPN.
It works on my laptop but not on my wife's ???

On a remaining simon system, it has gone into an AutiUodate of Image (firmware) that took about 2 minutes (50Mb/s fibre) it then rebooted the MAG box and loaded the portal and most channels back - with exception of most Sports and Movie channels. Catchup is showing, but not recordings, the Video section only has 99 entries, so I think the rebuild is under way and the quality and speed is back to the way it was....\

Simon had reiterated that 2 months free will be given - although I’d imagine that many will cover options and not stick with a locked interface and prefer monthly or quarterly subs....

Morning Jim, about your post I also have a dead Mag with this service seller, nothing has happened with mine, do I need to do anything with the unit to reload the portal? I will contact Simon later if he is about. I was aware the service provider was going to rebuild his service.

It may take some time to rebuild the system.

Thanks Jim

Mine is still off too. Simon did say it should load automatically. Give it a while longer I think. I try it once a day usually.

Try rebooting your mag box , unplug or switch off at the mains , give it a minute and switch back on , worked with mine yesterday

OldTimer, thank you, as a long time user of several different Mag units rebooting is a normal procedure, unfortunately, mine will not reboot as yet, no problem but like many already paid for this provider it will be good to at least get some resemblance of life out of the Mag.. :)

A week after it first went offline, mine came back in the Uk, for a few days - but not in Cyprus....

It would indicate that the service detects the country your box is in.... It may be they are rolling out updates to save hitting too many at once....

I don't know why they've updated, I assume to provide a more 'secure' service

After spotting the chalk mark on my tree this morning I went to the loose brick in the wall and there was a note from my man for a meet at the usual R.V. I popped a carnation in my button hole and carried Friday's copy of The Cyprus Mail and lost any a tail I might have had by darting around the stalls in the Flea market. My man having jumped on and off various buses arrived with his now customary dark glasses and a false beard.
"Within 3 weeks it will be back, better than ever" he whispered whilst furtively looking around and then slipped back into the crowd. I spent sometime looking in a mirror on one of the stalls for any undercover policeman before also melting back into the crowds at the flea market.
So now you know but please eat this message the moment you have read it and I didn't tell you. Cheers Mike

Still nothing from my Mag 250 (SS). Do I need to update any software on the box? If so, how do I do it?
