Rita

Your words of wisdom appreciated as allways.

Warrior, I respect your views, but suspect that we are 2 immovable objects in terms of devolution, so no point in me posting further on this subject.

Road Warrior wrote: Wed Mar 08, 2017 10:07 pm Mark, people in Scotland democratically elected the SNP government so, it's not a case of that's what the SNP want. Remaining in the union means outside of the EU with no chance of membership. Do you honestly think that the EU would not welcome an Indy Scotland ? Furthermore, we would have greater autonomy outside the union but inside the EU, than we have now. Anyway, not out to convert you or change your mind, just tickled by some of the comments on this thread which is why I responded, take care :)

I'm intrigued!

How do you think Scotland will survive any transition period into the EU, do you think you'll get a bridging loan from them for example, or do you think the remaining union members will happily bolster your economy until such time as you join the EU, or do you have some other magic formula?

Do you honestly think that Spain will welcome you into the EU?

And how does being 1 part in 28 give you greater autonomy than 1 in 4?

Yours confused :?

Well, as a Scot, I've sat on the fence on this issue. When I was a student in Edinburgh, we were tickled over the theft of the Stone of Scone, although nationalism was not really in the minds of the average Scot. There was a slight sigh of relief when it was re-found, I think in Arbroath Cathedral.

However, whether you are an independentist or otherwise, Scot or Sassenach, have a good look at

RW, yes I thought that, but I don't usually watch cycling unless it was the last race and Bradley was winning. Won't be watching him anymore.

Devil, the contents of the link you posted . . . . . . . . . . . . Hilarious.

RW, IMO you have captured the current mood perfectly in your previous few posts with regard to what most Scottish people are thinking at present.
