I would like to clarify something. I was a guest at the property of the lady you referred to as a 'silly woman' last Wednesday. I witnessed both dogs entering the garden, each one running frantically around the grounds and also entering the house through an open front door. My friend managed to get hold of the collar of one of the dogs to get the contact details in order to call the owners. It would have been very unsafe to maintain restraint on any dog unknown to a person in such an excitable state. In an effort to help further, my friend was kind enough to drive to meet the owners and direct them to the property where the dogs had been.
It was disappointing and hugely unfair to say the least to then be ridiculed on a public domain. It is all too easy nowadays. I would encourage the moderator to consider removing the comments. William Bourke.

To be fair, I guess all dog lovers get emotional in such situations, but my initial reaction wouldn't be to call people trying to help stupid....if anybody was being stupid it was the owners letting the dogs escape in the first place !
