Any news on how the young ma n is doing? Hopefully he is recovering and those who did this are punished severely.

A number of town centres in the UK had a problem with drink/drugs and silly behavior on Friday and Saturday evenings so eventually the Police/councils/brewery's and licensing authorities got their act together.

All licensed premises in the town centre had to have licenced doorman with ID displayed and in uniform, a no drugs allowed policy that included searches, no persons allowed in deemed to be drunk already and a dress code, all these rigidly enforced.

Bar staff trained properly and backed NOT to serve persons who appeared to have drunk to much, CCTV in the premises, any persons ejected not to be allowed back in and a early warning system to warn other premises that such and such had been ejected.

If the Police were called to the premises for fights/drugs etc a report submitted to the local licensing authority, the licensee warned and advised the license will be refused at next renewal (And they were!) Also the brewery were informed and they were very very active in getting the licensee to put the house in order.
The Police were also had a very visible presence with officers on foot and in riot vans and a no tolerance policy to disorderly behavior.

Also free water was available in the premises.

Despite all the oh we cant do all that it will cost to much money, they did and it worked well.

I never understand kids getting loaded with booze then going out at 11pm. What happend with smart shirt on pull at 7pm few scoops club take away and a taxi for 2am.

Bloody hell June 50 and I sound like an old fart. Was just trying to reflect on how things was when I was a lad and went out. And keep that bloody music down.
