Lidl are far from the cheapest in many lines.e.g Beef Mince. A lady said "i told you you that they are cheaper look at that beef only 4.60 Paps were 5.50 Pity she did not mention that Lidl was 600 grams Paps a kilo. Meat and veg are no where near the best buys in Lidl. It is best to shop around
Also shopping can be tricky sometimes

If you mean the current offer:
https://www.lidl-flyer.com/e88b50bb-88f ... 1479367709
one can clearly see that the Lidl offer is per kilogramme: 4.59, so if the packed amount was only 600 gr than of course you pay less than 4.59 at the tilt. Further it is very hard to beat the freshness of Lidl's veg and fruits to a perhaps higher price than in other supermarkets. Every day, early in the mornings, somebody is checking if the products look alright to sell...

I think that these comparisons of supermarket prices in different areas are meaningless, unless common types of food, ie coffee and tea packs, cereals, a loaf of white bread, tin of baked beans, bottle of table water, fruit squash ( or juice) 6 pack beer, 6 pack coca cola , box matches, washing up liquid, box of soap flakes for clothes washing, are compared type for type of food or cleaning product, across all supermarkets in towns in all areas of South Cyprus.
