As usual the artistic significance is lost on a philistine like me, but looks cool to me!

If that upturned part is reflective, as it appears to be in some of the sketches, then there could well be some well-dazzled drivers approaching from Limassol direction at certain times of the 300+ sunny days.

There was a big moan about the cost when Larnaca build a Fountain on the Main Port roundabout, but seeing it lit up and in flow , most now would agree its a bonus for what was a run down area.

It was the same in Paphos when they built the fountain close to the General Hospital and don't mention Tomb of the Kings Road which I think looks really good and has improved a very run down area.

The fountain near the general hospital has been completely drained and turned off for some time now maybe no water.

Actually the steps are there already . So they must be for pedestrians access to other sides of the roundabout.

It looks as though there are some underpasses beneath the road.. I have just looked on Bing and there are indeed Three underpasses for pedestrians already there

Let's hope they've got the drainage sorted properly then!

If you click on the image of the link I have sent in the first place it opens up 10 drawings/pics, which answers all the questions I think. Here the link again: https://www.cechrysanthou.com/paphosentrance
