Yesterday wife said, not watching it! Today I overheard some comments to a friend about a beautiful wedding dress!! Me, I fell in love again with that Jaguar E-type!!! I'm sure we all found something positive to comment on?

I didn't watch it either but they looked very happy in the news reports. If Meghan is as gracious as her mother appears to be then I think all will be well for their future life together.

I'm not a royalist by any means and knew I wasn't going to sit through the whole wedding. Thanks be to Saturday morning shopping with my mum!
Hubby made a sandwich and a brew when we got back a little after midday and after we'd put the shopping away. He disappeared into the living room while I caught up on the emails. He watched the service from just before the American bishop did his bit and I caught some of the live feed on the BBC News website as it ran in the background.
I went through with my husband to watch the happy couple leave the ceremony for the parade past the waiting throngs of people.
I thought it was a bit fast that parade but they both looked to be enjoying it, the dress was perfect - quite understated elegance as was her makeup and she looked beautiful indeed.
I haven't seen the veil as yet but what a clever idea to bring everyone into the big day.
All in all, I don't think it could have been done any better. The best royal wedding we've had I reckon and I very much doubt we will see another one like it. But it most certainly shows times are a changing and our new monarchy are pulling their family into the real world whether they like it or not.
Bravo, I say....

Jules just a small point HM The Queen had the emblems of the countries of the Commonwealth embroidered on her veil when she got married albeit there were fewer members in those days than the present 53. Great inclusive idea from both.
A great day and a beautiful service to my mind including the sermon/address which I personally felt was very thought provoking even if a little long (I gather it over ran the official allotted time but what the heck}. Wish them both every happiness.

That's not why most brides don't wear white. Most wear ivory. It's because white looks too pale. Anybody who suggested to a young couple today that it was something to do with virginity would be laughed at very hard indeed.

Quite correct Dominic. In any event the "white dress" in our part of the hemisphere at least is a symbol of purity - purity of the heart is the criteria nothing else.
