Not discrimination, people who are living abroad need more investigating... to make sure all is above board,..I guess they have more Intel on people living in the UK.

I refuse to accept that people abroad need more investigating. I am a born and bred Englishman, and chose to live here at the age of 59. Why should that require more checking? In my view the whole process is lop-sided and irrelevant. HMRC happily communicate with me, with confidential information about my tax affairs, as do the DWP - without me giving my inside leg measurement. Whereas I am against illegal (and immoral) dealings, this is bureaucracy gone mad.

You are legit ..there are many who are not and try to scam the system

How can they Scam the system when the authorities have all your national insurance and tax records since you started work. In my case at 15 years of age

I dont know the finer details on scamming but there's people out there who can provide fake IDs fake passports...fake national insurance etc etc etc

Funnily enough (2nd time) - in this mornings post I got a reminder from the International pension centre that I can now claim my State pension. the letter was dated 2 months before my 65th birthday.

Buckling down to form-filling and spent 41 minutes on their electronic form. I closed Adobe Acrobat correctly and it informed me that the document had been saved. I went back to the form after a coffee break and found that all the information I had input had disappeared. I can't say I am over-impressed with this whole process and admire those who have finished the application process.

The site does warn that you need a particular version of Adobe for the form to save correctly. I was ok mine did.

The version of Adobe Acrobat I used was 17.06.27 on my IPad 2 and it worked perfect . Did mine with quite a few coffee breaks and it was always there when I came back . Good luck .

Yes, I downloaded the correct version but it all went up in smoke. Just about finished apart from one nonsensical section which wants wedding details, even though I am sending my marriage certificate. I'll phone them on Monday, rather than send the form and find there is an error.

They're hoping you die before you actually get round to filling in the application form so they don't have to pay you..... now you know how the WASPI ladies feel

That's another discrimination against us who live out of the U.K. , we are not allowed to do the application on line .

It is not discrimination! I don't know why you cannot send on line but there must be a perfectly good reason. This is the typical ex pat moan!They are discriminated against by Cypriots for goodness knows what,even charged more in Restaurants and shops and now by the UK Government!! The facts are that if you choose to live outside of the UK then you abide by the rules that apply and in all the years that I lived in Cyprus I never once felt discriminated against by either Cyprus or the UK.Toughen up because it will probably get more Bureaucratic once we leave the EU.

Well Lloyd you have made me laugh on a miserable day!! We left Northumberland this morning on quite a pleasant day en route for S.Wales. It was quite a good journey until we hit Stoke ( where we lived for most of our lives) and it was gloomy,rainy and dark and miserable!! So pleased we did not return here!!
