We had a filter fitted under the sink when we lived in Peyia. They(Q Water) showed us readings of the "purity"? of the water . The tap water was very poor, surprisingly bottled water was not much better but with the filter system it was very good indeed. It was not cheap but worth every penny in my opinion and paid for itself eventually. If you move it can move with you.Thoroughly recommended.
Sounds like We have the same system from Q Water - reverse osmosis thingy. Excellent. I really can't be bothered carrying big bottles / crates of water from the shops. Back in Essex I had to descale our Kettle every few weeks, same in Tala from the '3rd tap'. With the filer not a single flake of scale in 2 years and the water is lovely on its own and makes a great brew.

Quite right Ian and of course I could use the water in the iron too which save me buying the water for that! I'm sure if anyone was to take their tap water or bottled water into Q water they would test it for you and show the readings.

The topic was about water which serious problems like colibacteria etc, and to test this, one needs a proper lab for water analysis like the one in our directory:

We never drink the tap water hear, we have a water cooler with 19 liter bottles.
Last time we where back in the UK my mother had to boil tap water before we would drink it.
The water quality has gone down in the north east since the french took over Northumbrian water.

Hello, both assuming you are talking of Cyprus water.
Where do you think that water was sourced? I used to use those large coolers at one time, for the last ten years we just use our double door fridge water cooler that does have a charcoal filter, best option, if you are concerned, is to buy a Brita filter jug, or get an inline water filter fitted to your house, me and our family have been drinking Cy tap water for 30 years this includes infants!, guess what never had an iffy tummy ever,
none of us, there is nothing wrong with Cyprus water. Really there is no need to waste money on plastic water that you have no idea of its original source or how long that water has been in those bottles. see this video.

Lloyd- don't they have those 1kg bags of luverly Cypriot 'Fat Chips' in the supermarkets (in the freezer cabinets) that you can just slam in a pre-heated 180ºc oven for 20 minutes from frozen?

Good morning all.
Frozen chips should be banned yuk!, how hard is it to cut and deep fry proper chips, not that I have them so much these days, but I never liked those ActyFry units, too slow and they do not taste the same as proper cooked chips, in my opinion, although what this has to do with drinking water alludes me, Yes Lloyd a seven year old video but nothing has changed except the world now realises just how bad plastic bottles and other containers are for the world's environment, that message says it as it is, to ignore this Lloyd is at yours and everyone else peril, we may not be around for long but for sure all that waste plastic will outlive most of us. You can poo-poo this all you like Lloyd but the facts are out there for us all to see. My last comment on this it seems some will not believe the truth out there.

Of course not. My wife does not drink tea, coffee or any soft drinks. She only drinks water so whats the problem with having a water filter so she can enjoy the best quality we can have & to save faffing about with bottles (regardless of what they are made of)?

My reply wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at people who moan at people buying water in plastic bottles, yet they dont mind buying hundreds of other products which come packaged in plastic.

The fact surely remains that these days, most plastic drink and food containers are:
A) Recyclable by your local council
and
B) Biodegradable in land fill sites

They aren't biodegradable! They can be recycled for sure. Turning them into furniture seems to be the latest wheeze. But they aren't biodegradable.
