Yes it was only a overnight stay and the few extra hours would have made the difference, but we never make a fuss and we took it at face value( because we are trustful people) that when the Owner of the hotel rang us personally to tell us that there was a technical problem and the room wasn't available until 6.30 we believed him why wouldn't we. And for people to say that it was insignificant because we probably didn't want the room for them few hours and it was all a storm in a teacup, can I tell you it wasn't not to us. Yes we entered into a contract with the hotel it is in black in white on their site. And if we hadn't turned up yes we wouldn't have expected a refund. I in return expect the hotel to honour the contract we entered into with them, which they failed to do. I just thought it would be helpful incase anyone ever found themselves in a similar position. Nothing more nothing less.

Like Hudswell we now take the free cancellation price if we book via booking.com.

However, we've just booked direct with a hotel on the outskirts of Latchi for 2 nights over Christmas. The Manager said that no deposit was required but he would be grateful if we advised him asap should we decide to cancel. Pretty fair, I think.

Just rebooked an hotel in Ayia Napa through BookCyprus.com....almost half the price of Booking.com, free cancellation as well....Cheers Dominic.
Not only that, but if I have ever had an issue their customer service email respond really quickly.
