Hallo. I am experiencing intermittent pain in my left knee. Best physiotherapist in Paphos who accepts GESY patients? Diagnosis is osteoarthritis but doctors not keen to operate. Only suggest exercise. Walking at length triggers inflammation requiring Panadol & rest.

I’m currently seeing Dr Aspros at the Envangelismos hospital in Paphos for treatment for Osteoarthritis in my knee, currently getting injections which work and he has a plan for when it deteriorates, very happy with my treatment l

Ah. I saw Dr Aspros a number of weeks ago. He diagnosed osteoarthritis and recommended exercise - swimming, cycling and walking. I walk a fair amount when I have to go out. No longer swim or cycle save on a stationary bike in a gym and none near to me. Strange he did not suggest injections. Thanks.

I saw him a month ago and after an x-ray I got an injection which cured my hip problem.

Well, that is most interesting. I too have a hip problem. I had better go and see him again. Thanks very much.

Treatment depends on how bad your knee is, I went through 2 years of physio and exercises before the pain got so bad I needed the injections.

There is also the option of having a knee replacement. I´ll get mine in 3 weeks. I´m not in too much pain yet and could manage with a crutch, but I think it won´t get any better and I want to be able to walk and run again.

Dr As;pros advised against surgery on the grounds of age. I concur fully.

How old is who? Dr Aspros? Don't know. Over 60 maybe. Only saw him once and don't really recall.

I had my last Arthroscopy at the Blue cross hospital, that was about 19 months ago.
That was the fourth one I have had done, 3 done in the UK.

I have recurrent knee and shoulder pain and am developing symptoms of early osteo arthritis. I have been advised by Dr Aspros to see a good Osteopath. He recommended Nicos Heroditou. I see him regularly when in Paphos. He is the best I have found, his treatment really helps me. He also suggested regular targeted physio who supervises targeted exercise in his gym. Plus regular walks on a good surface. This all helps a lot and also maintains personal fitness.
But all this takes effort, so not everyone wants to help them selves. Up to you.

I asked Dr Aspros when should see a physiotherapist . He said no. He prescribed 10 days of anti inflammatory pills which worked wonders & exercise. When I go out I walk around 14,000 steps Thanks

I know. I get around by bus & on foot. After about 16,000 steps have to lie down on returning home & take 2 panadol.

Seems, my joke was too poor to be noticed.

When you say that after 16,000 steps, you have to lie down and take pain killers, you are doing your body no favours. In fact, quite the reverse. Not a good thing.
