Fab photos, Max!
It looks like your snake popped out to pose for that 2nd shot

Love it!

Yes the snake is definitely posing in the second one.
This was exactly what happened. I had to break off some branches of the bush in order to get a good view for the camera. The snake must have heard the noise and went back into her "house", turning promptly and had a good look at me. In this position she was at least for 5 min. until she moved also the tail into the outlet. So inside the pipe there must be a lot of space as the body mass was actually huge, specially next to the head where I could see a large lump from her last catch.

I think she's giving you a baleful glare there Max.... I should keep your distance!

Great snake photos Max, especially the 2nd one. I've never managed to get a photo of a snake (other than the baby BNV I rescued from the pool) as they move so fast.
My neighbours did get to watch one drinking from their pool once though, as they sat quietly on the patio. They didn't have time to get a camera though.

Thank you Max for yet again posting some wonderful photos. As for where you live - that looks absolutely beautiful. You see to lead a very harmonious life, in tune with nature. I hope to see one of those whip snakes one day. I think that now, after some of the pictures put on here, I will know when something is a BNV, so will be keeping a respectful distance!
This forum throws up so many interesting and informative things to read. I keep them bookmarked. From snake pictures to tick treatment - and dog's dinners! All in one thread. I love it!
