This is interesting. Would you just get a General Hospital ambulance, or do you have the number for another company on your phone or in your wallet ??

That seems to make good sense at least then you get to use their A&E and perhaps your own doctor for onward treatment.. I see that the Evangelismos is part of Gesy now

One other thing you need to bear in mind, is that although the Evangelismos is in Gesy, if you were to be taken to the A&E department that is not in Gesy, and is chargeable to you. But of course that would (mostly) be covered by your insurance ..

I have been taken to A&E at Evangelismos when I broke a bone in my leg. I found their A&E was very efficient and I was seen by the doctor there very quickly. I would definitely prefer their emergency care to waiting about at the General Hospital. I was taken to have an x-ray promptly and was soon after admitted to the ward and my 2 bedded room there. All this within 45 mins of my arrival.

Although we have used Evangelismos Hospital we have not used their A&E. We have used the ambulance service and the A&E at the General hospital but I agree I would rather go to what was (or still is) a private Hospital.
