Interesting bit about Princes' guitar solo:
The story behind this makes it even more amazing. The Rolling Stone put out a list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time and Prince was snubbed from the list. This offended him to an incredible degree. He was seriously furious at them for it. So coming into this gig at the rock and roll hall of fame, he had a huge edge about him. He was pissed and it showed. He wanted the solo but the part he got in the song wasn't supposed to be so much of a solo as it was an outro. The solo in the song came a couple minutes earlier in the song. So, pissed off, he went through all the rehearsals doing the most vanilla version of the outro you could imagine(very similar to how that part is in the actual son). The rest of the performers had no clue what he had actually been planning. So when the night came and the performance was about to start he told the rest he was adding a bit to his solo and to play along. He then proceeded to melt the faces of the universe, completely showing up the guy who had what was supposed to be the actual solo. Watch it again with this story in mind, and notice the facial expressions. You can see the emotions burning within Prince.Then you see the others and you can't help but notice their amazement. They keep taking it back to that loop for Prince to end it, but he keeps going and they go through it again and again before he finally says "I'm done, You are welcome. ". Everyone is astonished at what happened, the only person not overjoyed by what was taking place was the poor guy who was upstaged by Prince. I can just imagine Prince thinking to himself "Bet they don't dare leave me off the list next time".
