If a police officer tells you to stop, you do, end of, no matter which country you're in.

Obviously these two people had never been taught that, or they chose to ignore the law.

they could not tell the people flagging them down were police officers.

So, are you telling me that police patrol cars have now finally stopped driving around with their blue lights flashing all the time?

So it is not just in Cyprus you can be looking down at the wrong end of a gun!

I suspect that the youths were not so cocky getting out of the car!

At least they were "youngsters" - the 2 in Cyprus could never be classed with that title and old enough to know better about what to do if the police in their country of residence tell you to stop.
