And you think I do? We have all made sacrifices along the way, yours are no different so why do you think you are special?

This is going way off the OP thread so Jim B why don't we start another thread entitled "what were your career aspirations and where did you end up", could be a thread winner or it could bomb?

If those are the only jobs available then yes …………… we can't all be brain surgeons and rocket scientists?

Shane
Well, if I was a brain surgeon or rocket scientist I´d hate to be employed tp pick cucmbers - and be paid accordingly.

Jeba.. You may hate to take a job 'beneath' you, but what would you do for you and your family.
Principles are a good thing to have if you have the money to go with them..
I find your high attitude surprising to say the least..
It has nothing to do with "high attitude". Of course, if I were left with no choice I´d take a lowly paid job as well, even if I hated it. However, I´d prefer a social security system which doesn´t force you take any job. In Germany you´re given between 1 and 3 years (depending on your age and how long you paid into the system) before you´d be forced to accept any job - and I´d prefer such a system. Btw before reunification there was no such time limit at all. That´s one reason why I think Cypriots in favour of reunification should be careful what to wish for.
