So, we have a gruesome past, left behind many centuries ago. However, some Christian sects still control many aspects of lifestyle, like Quakers. Luckily, in a peaceful, loving way.
Tell that to the porridge oats.
Also, a lot of white supremacists claim to be on God's side. The KKK springs to mind, though they aren't exactly fond of Catholics.

And people still call this regime a religion??????????????
Respecting the death of innocents is universal in all religions!!!
But not in Islam.

Was there a minute silence in Australia for the recent Afghanistan attacks or the ice cream parlour in Iraq?
Personally, had I been a Saudi, I would have gone along with the silence out of politeness, but to be honest I am surprised there was a minute's silence in the first place.
I don't mean I was surprised that they had one in the UK. That of course goes without saying!

As the visiting team, I thought it was outrageous that they refused to honor the 2 Australian women that died in the attack in London,

, surely they must have understood that it would cause offense to their hosts.
I'm puzzled that it was reported most of the team that play for the National side, held a minutes silence before another match in honor of the football team that died in a plane crash

so how can they say it is not part of their beliefs.

So, will some Tory voters finally concede that Saudi Arabia are indeed the problem and that May, Johnston and others doing all they can to appease them for the mighty dollar, is a huge, huge part of the overall problem, never mind the US.
It's time we treated the Saudis as they deserve. We call Iran a despotic regime, lie we did Iraq and Libya, whereas Saudi has been the problem all along. Yes, some other had despot leaders, but they bloody well controlled things.... and we put them there in the first place....

Ah, now that is a different thing altogether. A minute's silence when people from your own country have died is completely understandable. In that case, the Saudi team were completely out of order.

Are you seriously trying to tell us its only Islamists who have killed innocents over the years
Are you seriously trying to tell us that there are evil Christians out there who are killing innocent people or are you referring to the Crusades - 600 years ago in the Dark Ages?
The elephant in the room is Islam.
Well yes actually there are plenty of examples of Christians killing innocent people well within the last 100 years without having to go back 600.
The date doesn't really matter though does it - certainly no difference to the victims.
Cheers

As I've already said, but will repeat, there are evil people all over the world of all religions and of no religion. Evil is evil. There are clearly people who may call themselves Christian but their actions are not in keeping with the Christian faith which teaches just two things - love of God and love of your neighbour as yourself. Such people are therefore taking the Lords' name in vain.
Six hundred years ago, the Pope called for a Christian Crusade to 'free' the Holy Land and thereby kill all Muslims. This proved only that he was an evil person. Such a policy is as far removed from true Christianity as it's possible to be. The Christian faith is based on the New Testament and there is no teaching to kill - only to love.
Contrast this with the Q'uran which teaches its adherents to kill the infidel, to make the whole world submit to Islam, to stone and murder apostates, to stone those caught in adultery etc etc.
Islam is clearly NOT a religion of peace. Christianity IS a religion of peace.

Christianity isn't based solely on the New Testament.

Your not getting it, the real meaning of a religion dosnt matter, to an extremist who hides behind it to murder people.

What am I not getting? I have already said exactly the same thing in different words.
HOWEVER
If you want to talk about the religion they are hiding behind, one (Islam) teaches, condones encourages and rewards jihad - holy war. The other - Christianity teaches peace and love.
It seems to me that YOU are not getting it...

You are seriously asking a question like that?
Wow!
In the 2011 Census there were 33.2 million people in the UK who said they identified as Christians - a religion which teaches peace and love of all people.
In the same Census, there were 2.7 million people in the UK who identified themselves as Muslim - a religion which teaches that the entire remaining population of the UK - some 62 million people are infidels and they should submit to Islam with Muslims either fighting jihad to convert/kill them or at the very least financing Jihad for those who are willing to fight.
...and you ask me, in all seriousness, what does it matter what a religion teaches?

Christianity is based on the life and teachings of
Christ.
The Christian Bible itself is made up of more that just the New Testament.
Now, some Christians take that too far, like Creationists, and those odd people who like getting bitten by snakes. But if you go to a Catholic mass regularly, for instance (I cannot speak for C of E masses) then you will most certainly here bits of the Old Testament preached, on occasion.
