Trev, if there is such a system, I would probably not advise restricting yourself and would ask for a printed prescription anyway. For example, if your pharmacy has run out of a particular medication, it may be difficult for you to just pop into another.

I think.. but am not sure that with the right number, the prescription would be there for any pharmacy to log into. BUT, our 'local' pharmacy says we can only use the one we register with ????

Was in a pharmacy yesterday and a Brit was moaning that he he was only allowed one box of medication as the hospital used to give him two.

Been to validate Doctor registration within GESY. Form singed by both parties. GESY codes issued and repeat prescriptions set up. Paper one printed as a back up as some Pharmacies may not have full online access yet.

Three items we paid for now also on prescription list..

With Dr only 30 mins. So far so good.

Fisherman Phil wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 10:51 am The new system worked well for me this morning. Had an appointment with the Cardiologist at 9am, so went to my GP first for a referral note.(£6). Also obtained a note from my GP for repeat prescriptions, and took it to my usual Pharmacist. Apparently you can use any Pharmacy displaying the GESY sign.
Confused! Are you saying that even though you already had an appointment with a cardio, you had to get a further referral from your GP? I also have an pre-booked appointment with my cardio coming up (I have them every 6 months) and assumed that this meant I already had the referral, as it was ongoing. What would happen if I just turned up for my appointment without one?
I too already have an appointment with the Cardiologist at the General and also one with the Urologist there as well.. I will just turn up at the allotted time and date and see what happens..
Let us know what happens Trev.

Have you been into Maria's yet for any medication via the New Health Service.. It was Maria that told my wife you have to register with one Pharmacy and that you can only get your medications from there..
There was also a difference of opinion over the cost of medications... It will get sorted eventually ..
