What is your choice?

Post by Lincoln »

If you had to choose ONE thing/item that has been invented in your lifetime. What would it be? After much thought I chose; D.N.A.

DNA wasn't invented. It existed way before humans were around. Watson and Crick worked out its structure, but Mendel was the father of genetics, and he died in 1884.

I had the same rant in the car when Bejay said the same thing this morning. I was feeling particularly picky / grumpy though having just complained at the overuse of the word ‘amazing’. 🤓. I think I’d have to go for the mobile phone, so versatile and a life safer in some situations.

I would think GPS advanced capability – Not only capable of finding your lost moggy or car keys or even clowns lost in snow drifts in the lake district – But also tagged known criminals – Current capabilities can track you to within 1 metre of where you stand ( if you have your mobile with you) and future plans are to add medical assistance tags for the vulnerable with pacemakers or life threatening issues so that if you flake out alarm bells ring back at the monitoring centre and you can be located quickly – And must have more to come .

Advances in medicine. Otherwise I, and probably most of you, wouldn't be here.

On a less serious note, one of the things invented 4 months after I was born was Mad magazine. Alfred E. Neuman had yet to make an appearance.
