Three people were injured and hospitalised after a fight between tourists and farmers in the Paphos district on Sunday.The incident occurred around 4.30pm when 20 people travelling in 10 off-road vehicles in a rural area were approached by a 54-year-old farmer and his 23-year-old employee....

Ive seen it over here in the East, tourists tearing about in fields, the farmer has every right to try and stop them in my book.

Its a nuisance when you are stuck behind a slow moving convoy of 12 or so vehicles. Not the worst thing in the world but still annoying.

Tearing over a farmer's crops, might make them a bit angry.

We in the UK when we went over farmland Always sought permission beforehand. I think it is the correct procedure to do so.

I'd be bloody fuming if they were my crops! I was talking from perspective of a car driver on main roads.

A convoy of 10 off road vehicles could cause a lot of damage to a farmers fields particularly if the ground in the fields is wet. I’m not surprised that he was angry.
Though perhaps he and his employee shouldn’t have been so violent.
But equally the tourists should have left if he asked then to go.
