Hi All,
Some help on LPG please.
1. The cost per litre?
2. How long do the actual tank last? Ours say 2004.
3. Do the tanks need servicing?
4. How do you get them replaced?
5, No telephone number on the tank to get it refilled. Who do you use?
6. How long does your filled tank last for? Having ours on for 5 hours per day. How long do you have yours on for?
7. Time from ordering to getting the delivery?
Sorry so many questions but all new to us.
Many thanks in advance of replies.
LPG Heating
Re: LPG Heating
I have LPG (gas) heating.. with a tank outside the back of the house. Maybe I can help with some answers.
I believe looking at the bills that Gas is sold in Kilos not Litres.
My last bill in March was 177 euros for 126 kg. ie 1.3350 a kg
I cannot say how long a tank lasts for. There are too many variables, ie size of house, insulation, how many rooms, the thermostat settings etc etc
The time from ordering to delivery can vary..
I use a company called SYNERGAS tel 70002265 who deliver to a particular area every two weeks in Winter.. The day will differ depending on which area you are in.
I am not 100% sure about this, but I don't think I own the tank. It seems to be on loan / lease but I pay nothing for that. My tank was installed in 2011. Someone does come out and check that it is still in good condition and checked the valve and the gauge and pipes
If you are sure that your tank was made / installed in 2004, then I would get someone to check that it is still in a usable condition.
When I use the gas heating I usually have it on for an hour in a morning, and an hour in an evening.
If it is a sunless day I may have it on for an hour in the middle of the day.
But at the moment, I am using the Air conditioning units on Heat Mode because it is cheaper for me. I have electric solar panels on the roof, so my electricity costs are almost zero.
I hope this will be of some help

Re: LPG Heating
I believe that you have to use the Company that supplied the tank, and like Trev I think that they own it. I use Eko Gas [ used to be Blue Circle ] and Mario is in our area every Wednesday [ every second Wednesday in the Winter ] as for the rest of your questions I am afraid it very much depends on your usage.
I got a delivery yesterday of 247 lt or 135 kg at 1.4€ per kg total 198€

Re: LPG Heating
Argent your extra information is good. I too think you are supposed to use the firm where the tank came from. The poster said there was no phone number on the tank, but maybe there was a firms name.
I will recheck my bill as I could not find litres mentioned.. But it may be my ageing eyes

Re: LPG Heating
Thank you Trevor and Argent.
Got the suppliers number from a neighbour. Contacted them and they are going to send an engineer out.
Hopefully this will be soon and then we are sorted.

Re: LPG Heating
Yes WHL the people on this site are really helpful.
Update.
Engineer came and checked the tanks. New regulation out for LPG tank since 2022.
Ordered gas yeasterday. Deliver on a Monday in Emba/Paphos.
On waking this morning found the delivery driver filling the tank.
When I spoke to him. He said they did not want to leave us with little gas so came today. Great service.
Our neighbour saw him and got her tank filled. Had been meaning to ring them to order it.
So a job well done.
