Unfortunately, loans have to be serviced, wages payed to employees etc etc, if there's no money in the pot, then what other option, do they or any other business owners have to stay in business ?

Yes, British Airways and RyanAir. My nephew is a pilot with BA and is also very worried at the prospect of losing his job. He has a wife and 3 young children.
It's because of the length of the lockdown. Airlines have huge expenses and need to keep their aircraft flying passengers to earn their keep.'

Yes, HIC, it goes without saying, I think, that there were and are few passengers traveling by air at present, especially with regard to the UK. The abysmal way the pandemic has been handled in the UK has led to the country being forced to stagnate, which is having a dire effect on both jobs and the economy there.
I feel dismayed by what is happening in the UK even now and the prospect of a weakened (financially) UK, leaving the EU in December with or without a deal is something else.
I'm glad that I am living here.
