Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
Just noticed that BoC have took a payment from my bank account on 31st March and 30th April:
CARD MEMB.FEE PRORATA PDSPFO nnnnnn Card Memb. β¬5.00 nnnnnn is a number which is different on each payment.
Before contacting BoC does anyone know what's it for? Are they now charging for the privilege of having a Debit Card ?

Re: Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
β¬5 is what they charge annually, I thought for your debit card. If it is a joint account both cards are charged. If it isn't that, ring them and ask.

Re: Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
As far as I can recall, BofC have always charged their customers for the privilege of holding one of their debit cards. At least it is a fixed fee, described in their list of charges (available on line), unlike when I used to also have a village Co-op account - the card fee changed each year in accordance with use and some other weird calculation such as number of other cardholders...

Methinks you guys make this stuff up as you go along
We have a joint a/c with BoC and have had since it converted from Laiki.
We both have a debit card and we each get charged β¬5 *once a year* for this privilege, regardless of whether we use it or not!

Re: Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
When my late husband and I had a Hellenic account for emergency use (opened after the BofC new accounting system fiasco), he used his card occasionally - and I didn't. His card was renewed automatically - and mine wasn't. We were told by a helpful bank assistant that this was because I hadn't used it in the past 6 months so the assumption was I didn't need it.
After that, it was used once a month or so until shortly before my hisband's desth when we closed the account following their intransigence over the account title. A joint account should be "either/or" not "and" because on the death of one party, the funds will go to the survivor. In the case of an "and" designation, once the other party has died, the funds become subject to probate before the survivor can claim them. And the banks charge to give you the paperwork required by probate ....

Well, you must have a different account to us as we have only ever been charged the β¬5 each year for the card.

Many thanks - can't see any mention of under-use charge for any of the cards ...............galexinda wrote: βThu May 21, 2020 8:33 pm This is the link to the most recent BOC price list for people to review the charges:

Re: Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
Is all this kafaffal, over five euros a year, or five euro a month for not using card?

Re: Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
Kerfuffle?
We pay β¬5 per card per year
Tanny suggested there is a β¬5 per month fee for underuse

Re: Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
We have cards with the BOC, In the big scheme of things five euro a year, isn't a big deal.
Re: Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
I'm really confused.com here and certainly don't want to get charged β¬10 per month
@galexinda gave a link to the BoC charges, which looks fine and think it relates to the account that I have.
Then @Mirek gives a quote about charges which isn't from the charges pdf that @galexinda quoted
Then @Tanny says it's β¬10 per month for underuse
