Presumably they will base the supermarket occupancy levels on the size of the building divided by 8?

Actually, I have a 3m selfie stick. I could use that...

With hairdressers all shut, there's going to be a lot of long haired hippie types around with long scruffy beards. Unfortunately it's still a little chilly for sandals!

Read an article written by a Doctor that suggests this infection has been around for a lot longer than the last month or so. Most Doctors being under the impression they were treating type A and B Influenza and it's only come to light that the Corona virus although similar is totally different from flu.

Whilst banks may not have been mentioned, I don't think they were on the list of places allowed to open.
I would think that ATM's will be topped up and I think internet banking will still be available

This morning 8.15 Astrobank: customers waiting outside on the road to be served one by one, due to limited staff allowed to work. Cleaning lady was busy to spray and wipe the ATM. Could not pay road tax as the person responsible is not in today....

After I was driving uphill Polis road, I have seen plenty customers were waiting outside the different banks there...

Bank workers union says cash should be ‘laundered’

Bank workers union Etyk has asked the central bank to shut branches for two days to give time for measures to be put in place to protect staff and customers from the coronavirus.

Etyk has also urged the central bank to instruct lenders to deposit all their cash at the end of each day to avoid spreading the virus.

In a letter to Central Bank Governor Constantinos Herodotou, Etyk has asked for a two-day bank holiday to give time for measures to be put in place to protect people working and visiting branches.

It is also asking the CBC to take all the paper currency and coins from banks at the end of each day and supply them with ‘clean’ money to put back in circulation.

Hellenic Bank said Sunday it was shutting down certain branches as part of measures to fight the spread.

The lender urged customers to visit branches only if necessary and use Hellenic’s digital services instead.

The bank said it will also apply additional measures at branches in the coming days, including strict control of customer flow, thermal scanning, and dividers between tellers and customers.

Branches and other buildings will be disinfected, over and above the daily cleaning process.

Hellenic are restricting the number of branches open. There is a list by district on their website.

Commercial activities suspended from 16 March

Post by galexinda »

Commercial activities suspended

Another measure includes an order for a number of business establishments to suspend operations for one month, including shopping malls, cafeterias, casinos, barbershops and hair salons, cultural venues, cinemas, and restaurants with the exception of food delivery.

Hotels will also suspend operations for two weeks, while in cases where guests have ongoing lodging arrangements, they can continue to receive services for up to six more days.

The shutdown does not affect supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries, convenience stores, and gas stations, which will remain open on the basis of adhering to strict health protocols.

It seems a long closure for these three types of stores. Especially computer stores where people can take their misbehaving lap tops, or other devices. ..to be fixed.
