I don't know why they stopped issuing them. I have one and it is accepted everywhere I need ID

I have one but it's expired and no longer valid, although some might accept it as proof of identity.

The issue of ID cards to non Cypriots was stopped as people tried to use them instead of carrying a passport for overseas travel.
Mine is date expired and yet I still carry and show it as proof of ID when asked.

When we applied for the MEU3 last December the lady at Immigration told us that those holding the MEU3 will be able to exchange the certificate for an ID Card which will be much easier to carry and produce when requested.

I still have a valid ID Card which expires next August. However, I also carry an A5 size colour copy of my MEU3 as that is more up-to-date.
