Your observation reminded me of a bad train crash they had on the Reading to London line, with lots of deaths. When the police finally identified everybody I was amazed at how many were travelling under assumed identities.

Did anyone notice the man that was hit had his left leg bandaged up and had a crutch next to him?
I bet he wished he had stopped in that night!

Perhaps to chase the driver of other car? Very lucky escape but also incredibly unlucky to actually be hit.
