Going north

Post by carl01 »

Morning,
Does anyone know the current situation as regards crossing to the north? We are a couple planning to go across with our 9-year-old, is testing required or is proof of a double jab sufficient?
Many thanks.

This was the situation just over a month ago..

The trouble is that rules change and it would be good if you got a reply from someone who had used a crossing in the last few days

Thanks Trev for the reply, that helps ... guess we'll just turn up on the day and see what the situation is then.

Not forgetting that tourists, need to have been in the republic, for at least ten days before being allowed to cross over.

Does that apply to EU-citizens as well?

We just used to park near Ledra Street and go through on foot, taking a bus or taxi on the northern side.
The insurance for our double cab increased every time and we crossed 3 or 4 times each year.

Yes, we always filled up with fuel too, and bought bread from the small shop opposite the entrance to Bandabulya Market before making our way back to Limassol.
Our trips were mostly business with the small office we ordered from in the north and it was simpler for us to order and collect rather than wait for post to reach us by going via Mersin to Istanbul before eventually being rerouted back to Cyprus.
We still deal with the office now after being back in UK for 5yrs but there's no avoiding the postal route 🙁
