I believe I saved a lot of money by importing our car from the UK but of course it depends on what model you are bringing in. I bought the wife a Toyota Yaris from Paphos Toyota because it was cheaper than importing one whereas the Vauxhall Insignia I imported was thousands cheaper than a comparable Opel and also a higher specification.

What is the car?

Have you done the sums?
work out the 'import duty' here
http://www.mof.gov.cy/mof/customs/custo ... enDocument

In 2013 we paid ...
£650 for shipping with Andrews
€462 port fees at Limassol
€300+ agents fees at ANW
€35 for MOT
€180 for registration
€32 for number plates
Thanks for those figures. I think it will be easier just to flog our car and buy another one when we arrive.

It would have been easier for us too, but we saved about €2K so it was well worth it!
