Alpha Bank asking for proof of income over transfer into my account

As above, I have transferred a fairly large sum to pay months of mortgage fees. For the first time, they are asking for P60s and evidence if income.
Now I renegotiated my mortgage just over a year ago, from Swiss France to Euro. So I had to update all this info then And find this all very strange.
Anyone had similar?
UK bank account. So EU transfer. They are sitting on my deposit for 10 days now.

Agree with Flossie, it's probably to do with the latest round of EU money laundering diktats!

Yes, but as it's a bank to bank transfer the question of the origin of any deposits must have been resolved when received into the original bank account, so why again. I ask?

The question of origin of funds doesn't come into it, it's the bank "ticking" boxes nothing more nothing less!
