Taking pets to and from UK

Post by sussd66 »

We are moving to Paphos next year and looking for advice in transporting a small dog to and from UK. I live in South Wales.
How easy is it to organise and does anyone know the cost?
Which airports in UK will accept pets

We used this company when we took our dog and 2 cats out to Cyprus from UK: http://www.jets4pets.com/

It's 13yrs ago now but they're on the links list from Pets On Jets which is the Importer website for incoming animals at Manchester airport.

Both of our dogs arrived back at Manchester last April when we returned to UK on a permanent basis. They flew with Thomas Cook airlines from Paphos to Manchester.

Thomsons go Bristol to Paphos and take pets ........but not on all flights
Look at Bristol airport for pet transportation
Also look at Defra website for transportation pets overseas........the post important element is your paperwork and your timing with your vets re injections etc.......I would advise a wooden grate rather than the plastic if your dog is of a nervous disposition

We used Jets4Pets in 2007 and were very pleased with their service.

We also contacted Paphiakos prior to arriving and asked if someone could collect us and our 2 dogs from the airport to which they agreed and we gave them a nice donation to their charity. One of their volunteers English picked us up and took us to the house.
