Not today!

My friend went to walk her dog in the park as usual.
When she arrived at the gate, however, the park keeper stopped her.

"You can't come in, not with your dog", he said. "But he IS on a lead", she replied.
"No, sorry, not today, not even on a lead", said the keeper.

After a bit, a couple with a poodle came along. "Morning", said the keeper, and let them in.
They were followed by someone with an Alsatian, and they too walked in.
Then after that there came people with terriers, retrievers, a Doberman, and several others.
The keeper greeted them all, and let them in.

"But why won't you let ME in?", said my friend. "Sorry, I can't", said the keeper.
"But you let me in yesterday". "Yes, and I will again tomorrow".

"But why not TODAY!", said my friend. The keeper replied,
"Ah, but today's a Ban Collie Day!"
