POLIS HOSPITAL

Post by Tsadaken »

Hello

Seeking advice please - we are shortly moving house and will be living near Polis.

My wife and I currently use Paphos General Hospital for all our medical requirements - along with seeing a GP for everyday issues and prescription renewals between us we also see the following specialists / specialist departments, Chest Clinic, Eye Doctor, Cardiologist, Diabetic Clinic, Rheumatologist .
It is obvious that seeing a GP at Polis Hospital will not be a problem ( any recommendations as to which one they feel is the best please ? ) what we would like to know is whether Polis has the specialist departments that we require or will we have to continue using Paphos General for these facilities.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Ken

There is a visiting cardiologist, and there may be an eye specialist who visits (my wife saw her a year ago). As for the other specialists, you will have to go to Paphos.

Just for your information, Polis Hospital also has a visiting Neurosurgeon and a visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon. They both come up once a week, although this tends not to happen in July and August. Good luck. And don’t believe some of the horror stories about Paphos Hospital. We have always had excellent treatment there (both as inpatients and outpatients). But the food is dire. My wife was in hospital for three nights last week and I was bringing food in daily. Otherwise she would have starved.

If that is correct that is good news. I shall check the next time I am up there.
